COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Miami University senior Alyson Schmidt (Maineville) and sophomore Kelsey Vehr wrapped up competition at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday in College Station, Texas.
Schmidt swam her heat of the 100-yard freestyle in a time of :50.09, ranking 55th of 63 competitors.
Vehr raced in the prelims of the 200 breaststroke, clocking in at 2:16.42, finishing 46th of 50 swimmers.
Head coach Dave Jennings said it was a good experience for both swimmers.
"We swam okay," said Jennings. "We would have liked for them to have had faster times, but, all in all, it was a good experience for both of them. It was definitely a good way for Aly to end her career. And with Kelsey, it will prepare her well for future seasons."
