RedHawks Fall to Northern Iowa, 17-8

BRADENTON, Fla. - The Miami University baseball team fell 17-8 to Northern Iowa University on Sunday afternoon at Wynn Field in Bradenton, Fla.
Junior first-baseman Chris Nadeau had an outstanding offensive game, going 4-for-5 with a double, three runs and an RBI. Junior designated hitter Eric Darlage and junior shortstop Jordan Petraitis each went 2-for-4 with Petraitis totaling three RBI and scoring two runs with a home run, and Darlage scoring a run while driving in a run.
Senior right-hander Chris Niro was charged with the loss, going 4 1/3 innings, allowing nine hits and six earned runs, while striking out four and walking two. Seven RedHawks appeared in relief, including Jamaal Hollis and Bobby Oberschlake, who each struck out one batter.
The RedHawks, now 2-10 on the season, will face Lafayette at 3 p.m. on Monday at Manitee Community College in Bradenton.
