OXFORD, Ohio--Miami University's women's tennis team completed a dominant weekend by defeating Dayton 7-0 on Sunday evening at the Riverside Racquet Club. It was the RedHawks' second such win in as many days as the Red and White defeated Butler 7-0 on Saturday.
Miami improved to 2-1 on the season, while Dayton dropped to 0-3.
The RedHawks won all three doubles flights to pick up the doubles point. Sophomore Brintney Larson and freshman Cara Wald posted an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Freshmen Megan Martzolf and Anastasia Dracheva blanked the No. 2 Dayton doubles team, 8-0. Freshman Sydnee Bridger and senior Leda Pesatova won at No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
Dracheva moved to 3-0 on the season at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win against Dayton's Allysa Detroy. Larson won at No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-2, while Martzolf picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles. In the fourth flight, senior Kelly Douple produced a 6-2, 6-4 win, while Wald recorded a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles. Senior Victoria Pulido won at No. 6 singles 6-3, 6-0.
Miami rounds out a three-match home stretch when it hosts Cincinnati at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3 at the Riverside Racquet Club.
