- Miami Coach Charlie Coles "We got beat by a very good ball club tonight. We helped them out in the first half because we didn't play very well. We dug such a hole that I don't think the game was ever in doubt. We're having a tough time guarding anybody. They shot 70 percent the first half, and that's the highest field goal percentage we've had since Herb Sendek's first year, '93-94. Their success came because they were running so much, and they were beating our press. I'm at a loss because I don't think there's any one position that we guard very well. They're getting inside baskets on us like crazy."

Miami's Tim Pollitz "Offensively, we're just not playing relaxed out there. It's almost like we were scared to play. It's just a mindset. We have to get it in our head. We've played in so many tough environments this season, and played real well. Not taking anything away from Kent State, but, at home, a lot of times it looks like we don't even know how to play basketball. We should be playing at a higher level right now. It's not physical as much as it is mental."

Kent State Coach Jim Christian "Any road win you get in our league, you have to cherish. Every one of them is valuable. You just have to work and give yourself a chance, and I thought we did a good job of doing that tonight." "We have to play unselfish, and we have to play together. Overall, we played pretty unselfish basketball, I thought."
