Men's Basketball Team Defeats Ohio Dominican, 67-59

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) - Senior guard Juby Johnson tossed in 19 points, pulling him to within five points of reaching his 1,000th career point as Miami University's men's basketball team topped Ohio Dominican, 67-59.
Ohio Dominican scored only three points in the game's first 11 minutes and trailed 32-7 with six minutes remaining in the first half. Mason tallied 14 of his 17 points in the first half.
Miami led 40-20 at halftime.
The RedHawks (2-0) shot only 6-for-24 in the second half, allowing the Panthers (2-4) to pull within 60-56 on Luke Lyle's three-point play with 31 seconds remaining.
Johnson made all four of his free-throw attempts over the next 12 seconds to put Miami ahead by eight points. Ohio Dominican made it 64-59 on Jason Smith's 3-pointer with 14 seconds to play.
Mason scored the next three for Miami to clinch the win. He made one of two free throws and then hit a jumper after pulling down an offensive rebound off his foul line miss.
Lyle led Ohio Dominican with 15 points. Smith added 12 points and Haze Massey scored 11.
Danny Horace had 11 points and 14 rebounds and Nathan Peavy scored 10 points for Miami.
The RedHawks are idle for eight days before hitting the road in away contests at Dayton (Dec. 3) and Western Michigan (Dec. 6).
