MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - The Miami field hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision this afternoon at Central Michigan, dropping its Mid-American Conference record to 0-7. Scoring Miami's lone goal in the contest, her first of the season, was junior Megan Wiegand (Encinitas, Calif.).
The Chippewas opened the scoring with Takach's third goal of the season at the 15:40 mark. Trottier got her first of two assists in the match on the goal. She got her ninth goal of the season at 24:49, with an assist from Michelle Fogle. Miami got within one at the 30:34 mark with a goal by junior Megan Wiegand, with an assist from senior Angie Snedden (Sarnia, Ontario).
CMU pulled back out to a two-goal lead when Balanesi scored at 39:29, assisted by Allison Foland. The final goal of the match was scored by Dottery at 48:03, the first of her college career. Trottier also assisted on that goal.
Danielle Frank made five saves in the match to earn the victory. Kerri Krasnow saw her first action of the season, entering the match late in the second half and making one save. Freshman Kerri Matthews (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) had 18 saves for Miami
