RedHawks Lose Close Game at Toledo, 61-51

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Junior guard Chet Mason scored a team-high 17 points and nine rebounds, but Miami (4-9; 2-2 Mid-American Conference) could not overcome a late 9-2 Toledo run off a trio of Rocket three-pointers as the RedHawks fell at Toledo, 61-51.

Nick Moore led Toledo with 19 points, while Keith Triplett scored 12 and had 11 rebounds for the Rockets (8-6, 2-2 MAC).

Danny Horace was the other RedHawks in double figures with 10 points.

Two of Moore's three 3-pointers came during a decisive 19-3 run in the second half. It began with a layup by Triplett that put the Rockets ahead for good 42-41 with 10:37 to play and ended with a three-point play by Ricardo Thomas at the 4:26 mark.

Miami scored the first five points and led for most of the first half. A 7-0 run put Toledo ahead for the first time at 25-22 with 4:22 remaining in the half, but the RedHawks came back to tie the score at 29 at the half off a Doug Williams free throw and buckets by Mason and Juby Johnson.
