OXFORD, Ohio (AP) - Juby Johnson scored a career-high 26 points and started a 14-point run in the first half as Miami University beat Marshall 80-65 Wednesday night in its first home game in a month.

Miami (5-9, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) hadn't played at Millett Hall since Dec. 8. The RedHawks didn't fare well on the road in the last month, going in a 2-5 slump that included a 60-23 loss at Dayton.

They didn't have any problems shooting against Marshall (7-6, 2-2), which pulled ahead 13-6 and then fell apart on defense. Miami shot 54.8 percent from the field as it surged to a 40-27 lead in the first half.

Johnson's 3-pointer started a 14-point run over a 4-minute span late in the first half. He also had a jumper in the spurt that put Miami ahead 40-24.

The RedHawks got their first 20-point lead of the season in the second half before Ronald Blackshear led a comeback. He hit a pair of 3-pointers to start it, then made a jumper that cut it to 65-57 with 5:12 to play.

Johnson made two more 3-pointers - he was 6-of-8 from behind the arc - to help Miami regain control. Chester Mason added 18 points and Doug Davis had 13 for Miami.

Blackshear led Marshall with 19 points.
