Boyle, a two-time all-American while at Miami, finished his career ranked second all-time at Miami with 107 assists and ninth all-time with 148 total points (40-107-147). Voted the CCHA's top offensive defenseman during the 1997-98 campaign, Boyle helped Miami to a second-place regular-season CCHA finish and an NCAA Tournament berth during the 1996-97 campaign. As a senior, Boyle was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, presented annually to college hockey's top player, and Miami's Male Student-Athlete of the Year.
The only Miami player to repeat as a first-team all-CCHA selection (1996-97, 1997-98), Boyle is currently with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League where he has played in 64 games while tallying 22 points (4-18-22).
