Having been associated with Miami Synchronized Skating her entire life and after a stellar four-year career with the RedHawks, Ashley Korn continues her work with the program as a volunteer intern in 2011-12. In addition to assisting the staff on the ice, Korn will work in many facets of skater development off the ice and also is a CHAMPS/Life Skills and Compliance Graduate Assistant within the athletic department.
Korn was a four-year member of Miami[apos]s collegiate team, helping the RedHawks to national titles in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. She represented the U.S. with the RedHawk collegiate team at the 2009 Winter World University Games. In her first season with the program, Korn also skated with the junior team in addition to the collegiate team, helping them to a fifth-place finish at the U.S. National Championships.
A native of Oxford, Ohio, Korn earned her bachelor[apos]s degree from Miami in May 2010. She was a double major in journalism and speech communication with a minor in family relationships. Korn is pursuing a master[apos]s degree in student affairs and higher education at Miami.
