Head coach Megan Duffy announced the hiring of Frank Goldsberry as an assistant coach on Apr. 21, 2017.
"Coach Goldsberry brings an incredible amount of experience on and off the court," said Duffy. "He is one of the greatest teachers and motivators in our game. Frank is someone who brings many of the intangibles it takes to be great. His reputation in the state of Ohio and throughout the Midwest speaks volumes, and he is someone that I will count on immensely as we grow Miami women's basketball."
Goldsberry arrives in Oxford after spending the previous five seasons at Milwaukee. He was an assistant coach his first four years before being promoted to associate head coach prior to the 2016-17 season.
In his final three years at Milwaukee, Goldsberry had the honor of coaching three All-Horizon League selections and had two players under his tutelage who were named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team.
Before his time at Milwaukee, Goldsberry served as the women's director of basketball operations and video coordinator at the University of Dayton since 2003, eventually adding the title of assistant director of compliance to his duties in his final season.
Goldsberry brings along an impressive coaching resume, most notably putting together a 170-16 record from 1996-2003 at Chaminade-Julienne High School in Dayton. Goldsberry led Chaminade-Julienne to two Ohio Division II state championships (1999, 2003) and to the USA Today's No. 1 ranking in the country in 2002. The Eagles were also the state runner-up in both 1998 and 2001.
In three of his final four seasons at Chaminade-Julienne, the team claimed the top spot in the final AP poll. He was named Division II State Coach of the Year in 1999 and District Coach of the Year in both 1998 and 1999.
Players that Goldsberry coached at the high school level include National High School Player of the Year and former Minnesota Lynx forward Tamika Williams, who helped guide Connecticut to the 2000 and 2002 NCAA titles. He also coached Miami head coach and former Notre Dame point guard Megan Duffy and Ohio State's Brandie Hoskins. Overall, he coached nine NCAA Division I players.
Prior to his stint at Chaminade-Julienne, Goldsberry was head coach of the boys basketball team at Northmont High School from 1993-1996. There, he posted a 42-24 overall record and led Northmont to its first district final in 20 years.
Goldsberry started his coaching career at Tippecanoe High School in Tipp City, Ohio. He was the head boys basketball coach from 1979 to 1995, compiling a 165-112 overall record.
A graduate of Ball State University, Goldsberry earned his Bachelor of Science in education before eventually collecting his master's in computer science at the University of Dayton.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to coach with Megan at such a prestigious university," said Goldsberry. "Megan has been a winner throughout her basketball career as a player and now as a coach. Our goal as a staff is to take the women's basketball program to new heights, both on and off the court."
