2010-11: Participated in seven tournaments during sophomore year ... average 73.20 strokes per round over 20 rounds played, the second lowest average on the team ... top finish was tie for fourth at the Renaissance Invitational (72-70-72=214) ... that performance earned him MAC Golfer of the Week honors ... also had top-10 finish when he tied for 10th at the Georgetown Intercollegiate (70-69-75=214).
2009-10: Participated in 10 tournaments as a freshman ... averaged 75.67 strokes over 30 rounds ... top finish for the season was tie for 20th in the Renaissance Invitational (69-74-71=214) ... the 69 he shot in first round was his season-low round ... tied for 22nd at the Rice Intercollegiate (79-76-76) ... tied for 36th at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate (75-72-76=223) ... finished in a tie for 29th at the MAC Championship (82-77-76-73).
Amateur Experience: Finished 38th at 2010 Michigan Open after rounds of 68-73-76-69 ... placed seventh in the 2010 Michigan pro-am team competition with his father, they had rounds of 67-66.
Prior to Miami: Finished second in the 2009 Michigan Junior Amateur Championship after winning the 2008 event ... placed 26th in the 2008 Michigan Open ... three-time Michigan PGA Section Junior Champion, winning the 2008 crown after shooting 65-66 ...Three-time Michigan High School Athletic Association state tournament qualifier, finishing fourth in 2006 and 2008 and fifth in 2009 as a member of Charlotte High School ... won three regular season tournaments as well as the conference championship in 2009 ... named All-State as a senior ... averaged 72.8 strokes per round during 2008 season.
Personal: Son of Ron and Francee English ... father Ron played golf at Michigan State and was the head coach of the Ferris State men[apos]s and women[apos]s teams from 1979-97 ... undecided on major.
