Cowan Olinger is in his second season as Director of Basketball Operations and his fourth with the Miami University men's basketball program. He has spent the his first two years as graduate assistant with Miami.
“Cowan's creativity has been an asset to what we are trying to build to and his ideas continue to advance us further,” said head coach Jack Owens.
Olinger is responsible for all the behind-the-scenes and video operations of the program. That includes film breakdown of practices, games and opponent film, along with film exchange between schools. He also assists the coaching staff with opponent scout preparations and maintaining the recruiting database.
Prior to Miami, Olinger served as a student-manager at Purdue University form 2013-2017, spending his last year as Head Manager.
Olinger earned his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue in 2017 and earned his master’s degree in Sport Leadership and Management from Miami in 2019.
Olinger and his wife, Beth, reside in Oxford.
