SCOUTING REPORT: Heads into fall drills as a top candidate for SAM linebacker duty ... he's strong, fast, athletic and has a good motor, but he needs to become a better football player ... has to become more of a student of the game.

2011: Appeared in 11 games ... finished the season with 11 total tackles, recording a season-high three against Western Michigan (Nov. 16).

2010: Earned his first varsity letter, appearing in four games ... his lone tackle came vs. Ohio.

2009: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Northshore High School's Athlete of the Year as both a junior and senior, winning letters in football, basketball, track and field, and power lifting ... won all-district and all-parish honors ... he ranked among the top 15 percent of his class in grade-point average and was a member of the Honors Society ... prep football coach was Mike Bourg.

PERSONAL: Born November 22, 1990 ... son of Marie Wade ... a 3.0+ student at Miami, he majors in engineering management.
