Made team-high 21 appearances out of bullpen serving as team closer … finished with a 6-0 record and 2.30 ERA … had team-high five saves and recorded 39 strikeouts in 27.1 innings pitched … opponents hit only .194 against him … had five strikeouts and earned save in 2.0 innings work vs. Saint Louis (2/17) … threw season-high 4.1 innings, giving up no runs on only two hits to earn victory over Ball State (4/21).
 
2018
Selected Second-Team All-MAC … made team-high 26 relief appearances … posted 4-0 record with a 5.26 ERA … struck out 34 hitters in 25.2 innings of work … kept opponents without a hit in 12 of his outings … recorded season-high four strikeouts in 1.2 innings of work at Western Michigan (5/4).
 
2017
Made a team-high 20 relief appearances ... posted a 3-3 record with a 5.05 ERA ... struck out 44 hitters in 41 innings of work ... opponents hit just .263 against him ... posted his first win of the season when he went a season-high five innings against Dayton (4/12), allowing just one run while striking out three ... struck out a season-best six in three innings of work against Buffalo (5/7).

2016
Made 16 appearances, fourth most on the team, including a start at Morehead State (3/29) notched two wins on the season, at Belmont (2/27) and at Buffalo (4/17) also recorded two saves, which was second most on the team struck out four in a season-high 3.1 innings of work at Buffalo (4/17).

HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from Lakota East High School with honors -  earned three varsity letters in baseball, playing a variety of positions also lettered four times in hockey, where he served as team captain First Team All-GMC (2014-15), Academic All-GMC (2013-15), Cincinnati All-City (2014-15), Ohio State Senior All-Star Game Selection (2015) Holds Lakota East wins record also ranks second in career strikeouts, innings pitched and career ERA and is tied for the record in career shutouts prep coach was Ray Hamilton Club teams: Cincy Flames and Florence Freedom.

PERSONAL: Full name - Andrew Charles Almquist Born: Nov. 20, 1996 son of Catherine and Marvin Almquist sister, Anna, attends Miami ('16) mother, Catherine, played golf at Ohio State and received All-Big Ten honors and was an Academic All-American father, Marvin, played lacrosse at the University of North Dakota uncle, David, also attended UND where he played baseball majoring in engineering management.
