
Callahan Tied for Lead After Day One of RedHawk Intercollegiate

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Miami University golf team hosted the first two rounds of the RedHawk Intercollegiate Monday at the Pittsburgh Field Club, where they finished day one tied for seventh place out of 13 in a field that includes MAC rivals Ohio, Bowling Green, and Ball State. Ten total golfers competed for the RedHawks, five on the "A" team and five on the "B" team. After day one, Miami freshman standout Jack Callahan, who shot eight-under-par, is tied for first place in a field of 84.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Callahan (71-63=134) started the day with a score of even par in his first round and then followed with a score of 63 (eight-under-par) in round two, the best score of his collegiate career. The freshman logged a total of nine birdies and only one bogey throughout his 36 holes of play. Callahan sits at the top of the leaderboard, tied for first place heading into the final round tomorrow.
- Tyler Anderson (69-74=143) posted a score of two-under-par in his first round and three-over-par in his second round. Anderson logged seven birdies on the day and is headed into the final round tied for 30th place at one-over-par.
- Joseph Canitano (73-72=145) shot three-over-par through his first two rounds. He logged seven birdies, including two on the last three holes of the day. Canitano heads into the final round tied for 46th place.
- Liam Nelson (71-76=147) shot even par in his first round and five-over-par in his second round. He totaled five birdies on the day and heads into the final round tied for 53rd place.
- Bric Baird (75-74=149) shot four-over-par in his first round and three-over-par in his second round. Baird logged three birdies on the day and is headed into the final round of play tied for 66th.
