OXFORD, Ohio— The Miami University soccer team lost 1-0 to Butler Sunday night despite out-shooting the visitors 16-5. The RedHawks move to 1-2-0 with the result. Butler is now 1-1-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The RedHawks' first opportunity came from a breakaway by Millie Cook in the 20^th minute, but it was stopped.
The best chance of the first half for Miami came in the 33^rd minute from a cross and a shot by Caroline Mortonson, but it took a miraculous save to be stopped.
Kailyn Morrison made a great defensive play to prevent a breakaway in the 60^th minute.
Butler scored the go-ahead goal in the 67^th minute by Chloe Brecht, 1-0.
Miami's final chance came on a one-on-one from Millie Cook but was saved by Butler.

NOTES

The RedHawks extended their streak of not allowing 10 or more shots at home since Oct. 18, 2024.
Millie Cook recorded three shots on goal, the most in her career.
Jaden Sink recorded two shots, the most in her career.
Morgan Tyrakoski collected the first two shots on goal of her career.
