Miami Golf Wraps Up Round One of NCAA Bryan Regional

BRYAN, Texas— The Miami University golf team began its journey at the NCAA Bryan Regional hosted by Texas A&M at the Traditions Club today. The tournament features a stacked field of talent, including the No. 4-ranked Texas Longhorns and No. 9-ranked University of North Carolina Tar Heels. The RedHawks sit in 12th place at 10 over par through the first of three rounds, while the host Aggies lead with a score of 12 under par. Michael Weber posted the best score of the day for Miami, shooting a one-over-par 73.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Weber (73) shot one-over-par with two birdies. He closed out the first round tied for 36th place.
Cameron Pero (74) finished day one with a score of two-over-par. He birdied the eighth and longest hole of the course, a 584-yard par five. He sits tied for 44th place heading into round two.
Brett Podobinski (75) posted a score of three-over-par in the first round of play. He birdied holes 5, 12, and 17. Podobinski will look to gain some ground in the second round tomorrow and is currently sitting in 48th place.
Tyler Anderson (76) shot four-over-par in his first round with three birdies on the day. Anderson is headed into the second round tied for 52nd place.
Liam Nelson (77) posted a score of five-over-par today with birdies on the eighth and thirteenth holes. He finished the day tied for 61st place.
