- Dominic Krupinski started the second inning by taking first after an HBP. Harrison hit his 15th home run of the year, a two-run shot to right field that extended Miami's lead to five runs.
- Gonzalez collected his second hit of the day, hitting leadoff in the third. Carson Raether walked, and both runners moved up a base on a groundout. Gonzalez then scored on a wild pitch. Still with one out, Christopher Roa doubled down the right-field line, bringing Raether around to score. Krupinski hit Miami's third home run of the day, another two-run blast that put the RedHawks ahead by nine.
- Akron added their first run in the bottom of the third, leading off the inning with a double and a single before utilizing a sac fly to score and make it 9-1. A solo home run by the Zips made it a 9-2 ballgame in the bottom of the fourth. Burke stopped the scoring streak with a one-two-three inning in the fifth.
- In the top of the sixth, Harrison hit his second home run of the day, again to right field, to add one to Miami's tally.
