RedHawks Conclude Round One of Calusa Cup

NAPLES, Fla. — The Miami University golf team competed in round one of the Calusa Cup at Calusa Pines Golf Club today against an elite field of competition that includes No. 2 Virginia and No. 3 Florida. Cameron Pero posted the lowest round for the RedHawks with a 73 (+1). The RedHawks head into round two Monday in eighth place.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Pero (73) shot one over par with four birdies, three of which came on the back nine. Pero finished strong, shooting two under par through his last nine holes. He is currently tied for 20th place.
- Brett Podobinski (76) posted a score of four over par in his first round. He is tied with teammate Liam Nelson for 31st.
- Nelson (76) shot four over par as well, with two birdies on the day.
- Nathan Vonderhaar (79) shot seven over par today and is tied with teammate Michael Weber for 37th place heading into round two.
- Weber (79) shot seven over par with four birdies on the day.
