Copeland Joins Miami Men’s Basketball

OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University head men's basketball coach Travis Steele announced the addition of Preston Copeland to his program for the 2026-27 season. Copeland signs with the Red and White after completing one season at Ball State.

PRIOR TO MIAMI:
- Competed in 30 games and made 24 starts during his freshman season with Ball State, where he averaged 4.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 0.7 blocks, 0.5 steals and 0.3 assists
- Scored a career-high 18 points vs. Earlham on Dec. 29, 2025
- Totaled a career-best 16 rebounds against Le Moyne on Nov. 30, 2025
- Rated as a three-star recruit by 247sports.com out of Combine Academy in Charlotte
- No. 65 power forward in his high school class and No. 19 North Carolina prospect according to 247sports
- Averaged 16.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as a high school junior
- Played football while being an honor roll student in high school
