Elmer Named MAC Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly basketball awards on Monday afternoon, and Eian Elmer was named MAC Player of the Week. It is his first MAC honor of the season.
Elmer helped the Red and White close out the regular season with an undefeated record (31-0, 18-0 MAC), as Miami defeated Toledo at home and Ohio on the road. In 37.0 minutes per game, Elmer averaged 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 1.0 steals and 0.5 assists. He shot 13-of-26 (50%) from the floor and went 6-of-14 (42.9%) from the three-point line. The junior wing began the week by totaling eight points, four rebounds, four blocks, one assist and one steal in a 74-72 win over the Rockets Tuesday evening. He went on to record a career-best 32 points, 12 rebounds, one block and one steal against the Bobcats Friday night in a 110-108 OT victory.
Elmer and the RedHawks return to action in a MAC Tournament quarterfinal game against No. 8 UMass on Thursday, March 12 at 11 a.m. on ESPN+.
