Boule, Suder Claim MAC Scholar Athlete of Week Honors

CLEVELAND--Â The Mid American Conference announced its female and male Scholar Athlete of the Week winners today, and for the first time in this academic year, Miami University student-athletes swept both awards. Mia Boule (indoor track and field) and Peter Suder (men's basketball) were recognized.

Boule claimed the MAC title in pole vault with a mark of 3.95 meters at last weekend's MAC Indoor Championships. This was Boule's third jump of at least 3.95 meters in the past five weeks, and she now owns four MAC medals in pole vault between indoor and outdoor competition. The junior from Yorkville, Ill. is a Kinesiology major in Miami's College of Education, Health and Society.

Suder helped Miami keep its undefeated season alive with strong performances in road wins at Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan last week. In 31.7 minutes per game, Suder averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal. He also shot 13-of-26 (50%) from the field over the two games. The senior from Carmel, Ind. totaled 13 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks against the Eagles, followed by 18 points, three rebounds and one steal in a victory over the Broncos. Suder is studying Sport Management in the College of Education, Health and Society.
