OXFORD, Ohio – David Sayler, Miami's Director of Athletics, has announced that head women's basketball coach Glenn Box has signed a contract extension through the 2031-32 season.
"This extension and contract speak to the support and commitment to Women's Basketball that our administration has," said Box. "I am even more motivated to see this vision of being amongst the elite. I want to express my gratitude to David Sayler, my staff and current and former players for allowing all of this to be possible."
Box orchestrated arguably the single greatest season in program history, helping the RedHawks to a school-record 28 wins, a MAC Regular Season Championship (16-2 record) and a MAC Tournament Championship this past year. He earned Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year honors and has the Red and White in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008.
Miami went 11-0 to begin conference play, the best start in program history, had a 13-game win streak (school record is 14) and has 22 double-digit wins this season.
"I am excited to sign Coach Box to this new contract," said Sayler. "He has led this team to improved records each year, culminating in MAC regular season and tournament championships. I am excited to watch them compete in the NCAA tournament, and the future is bright for Miami women's basketball."
The third-year coach is 56-38 overall and 34-21 in MAC play since taking over the reins of the basketball program back on May 8, 2023. After a 9-20 first year, Box orchestrated a 10-win improvement in year two, guiding the RedHawks to the No. 5 seed in the MAC Tournament and an appearance in the WNIT for the first time since 2019.
Box has produced five All-MAC performers, while a pair of RedHawks earned a spot on the MAC All-Defensive Team this past season. His teams have also performed well in the classroom, producing a 3.61 team GPA this past fall.
