GRAND FORKS, N.D.– No. 20 Miami and No. 3 North Dakota battled for 60 minutes in a tight contest at Ralph Engelstad Arena Friday, but the Fighting Hawks got the game's only goal from Tyler Young to earn a 1-0 decision.

Matteo Drobac made 41 saves for the RedHawks, who drop to 17-10-2, 8-9-2 NCHC. Jan Špunar picked up the shutout in net for the hosts, who improve to 22-7-0, 14-5-0 NCHC.

HOW IT HAPPENED

9:57 2nd (North Dakota 1-0) | After almost 30 scoreless minutes, North Dakota scored the first goal of the weekend near the game's midway point. Andrew Strathmann let loose with a shot from the blue line that Young redirected toward the far goalpost to make it 1-0. Anthony Menghini also had an assist on the play.

Drobac's 41 saves was the second-highest total of his Miami career (45 vs. Western Michigan on Nov. 15)
Drobac was named the Third Star of the Game.
10 different Miami players blocked at least one shot, led by Ryder Thompson (three).
