HOW IT HAPPENED
- 0:36 1st (Miami 1-0) | Miami got off to a quick start with an opening-minute goal by Runtso. After a Matouš Kucharcík faceoff win, Runtso exchanged passes with Kocha Delic and blasted a deep one-timer from the blue line that deflected off a defender in front and bounced in to give Miami an early 1-0 lead.
- 13:51 1st (St. Thomas 1-1) | St. Thomas evened the score with a 5-on-3 goal later in the opening stanza. Chase Cheslock faked an initial shot in the left circle and then fired to make it 1-1, converting off assists from Jakub Altrichter and Lucas Van Vliet.
- 16:27 3rd (Miami 2-1) | The RedHawks capitalized on a major penalty against UST in the third period to find the eventual game-winner. David Helledy sent a pass from the point to Kucharcík, who ripped a shot at UST's William Ingemann. Grimes was in the right place at the top of the crease to finish off the rebound and give Miami the lead for good.
