HOW IT HAPPENED
- 15:09 1st (Miami 1-0) | The RedHawks capitalized on the game's first power play with a goal from Kucharcík. Baker cycled the puck around the top of the zone to Ryder Thompson, who fed a pass to Kucharcík on his right. Kucharcík faked a shot and then fired past NMU's Oliver Auyeung-Ashton to put Miami on top.
- 8:46 3rd (Miami 2-0) | Miami doubled its lead in the third period with another power-play goal. Kucharcík made a nice move in the middle to create a scoring chance, and Smith followed up with an attempt off the rebound. Baker grabbed the ensuing rebound and finished the play for a 2-0 advantage.
- 17:51 3rd (Northern Michigan 2-1) | The Wildcats got on the scoreboard with 2:09 to play, pulling their goaltender for a 6-on-4 situation on the power play. Merril Steenari lit the lamp with two seconds remaining on the man advantage off of assists by Evan Depatie and Grayden Slipec.
- 18:22 3rd (Miami 3-1) | Giampa gave the visitors some breathing room with an unassisted empty-netter in the final two minutes, holding the puck in at the blue line and firing it home.
- 19:22 3rd (Miami 4-1) | Walker sealed the outcome with 38 seconds to play, as Doug Grimes hustled to knock the puck ahead from his own blue line and Walker tracked it down near the offensive zone to secure another empty-net goal.
