
Mills Jr. Named to 2025-2026 Class of 18 of the Last 9

OXFORD, Ohio— The Miami University Alumni Association has announced the 18 of the Last 9 Award honorees, and Roderick Mills Jr. was named to the 2025-2026 Class. The Alumni Association proudly acknowledges these 18 alumni from the last 9 graduating years as leaders, innovators and change-makers. Now part of an elite group of approximately 234 Miamians, these alumni exemplify Love and Honor, and create a positive impact on the world around them by living out the values inherent in a Miami education through their work and/or service.
Roderick is a Senior Associate at Prairie Capital, a private equity firm in Chicago. He earned his bachelor's degree in Finance from Miami University in 2018, where he was also a member of the Varsity Men's Basketball team. After graduation, he fulfilled his childhood dream of playing professional basketball, competing in the Republic of Georgia. Prior to his career as an investor, Roderick worked in investment banking and asset management.
In Chicago, Roderick has established himself as an engaged community leader. As a member of the Big Shoulders Fund Auxiliary Board, he helps advance educational opportunities for K-12 students across the Chicagoland area. He also served as a Co-President of the Private Equity Association of Chicago, the largest pre-MBA private equity organization in the country.
Roderick is passionate about increasing access and representation in finance, especially for underrepresented students and student-athletes.
