OXFORD, Ohio— The Miami University baseball program announced its 2026 season schedule today. Coming off its first MAC championship, first MAC Tournament title and first NCAA Tournament trip since 2005, Brian Smiley's team will play 55 regular-season games next spring, including 22 in Oxford.
The RedHawks open the campaign at Southern University for a three-game series beginning Feb. 13 before playing four games at the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla. (Feb. 20-22). Miami will battle Brown, Indiana State, UMass Lowell and Illinois State in the Sunshine State. The RedHawks also visit Southern Illinois (Feb. 25) before a four-game series at Southeast Missouri (Feb. 27-March 1).
Miami travels to Wright State for a Nuxhall Classic game on March 3 and then opens the home portion of its schedule March 6-8 against Eastern Michigan as Mid-American Conference action gets underway. Other conference weekend series in March include Bowling Green (March 13-15 at home), Northern Illinois (March 20-22 in DeKalb, Ill.) and Kent State (March 27-29 in Kent, Ohio). Miami's midweek games that month include Evansville (March 11) and Dayton (March 18) at home, as well as trips to Dayton (March 24) and Kentucky (March 31).
When the calendar turns to April, the RedHawks will play three-game series against MAC foes Ball State (April 2-4 at home), Ohio (April 10-12 at home), Toledo (April 17-19 on the road) and Central Michigan (April 24-26 at home). Miami also will play a Nuxhall Classic game at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio vs. either Cincinnati or Xavier (April 7 or 8). Other scheduled April matchups for the Red and White include a midweek game at Purdue (April 14) and home tilts against Bellarmine (April 21) and Xavier (April 28).
Miami will travel to Western Michigan (May 1-3) and Akron (May 14-16) sandwiched around a home series against Massachusetts (May 8-10) to wrap up MAC play. The RedHawks also round out non-conference action with a May 5 game at Ohio State.
The Mid-American Conference Tournament is set for May 20-23, 2026 at Crushers Stadium in Avon, Ohio.
"All of our players and coaches are looking forward to this year's schedule," said Smiley. "In addition to the 33 Mid-American Conference games, we will be playing traditionally very good baseball programs outside of conference play. Opponents from the Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, and four games with teams from the always strong Missouri Valley Conference are on this year's schedule, as well as incredibly strong programs from the area including Xavier, Dayton and Wright State. We will be challenged early with an incredibly offensive and well-coached Southern University, as well as the perennial favorite in the Ohio Valley Conference with four games against Southeast Missouri. All of us inside of the program are looking forward to the challenge of this schedule and are eager to get it started!"
