INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-- The Miami University indoor track and field team traveled to Indianapolis for the second weekend in a row, competing in the Crossroads of America Invitational this weekend. Ella Garvin produced the second-best high jump in program history, beating her record-setting jump last weekend. Nora Zubillaga's mile of 4:52.86 establishes her as the eighth-best miler in Miami indoor track history. Mia Boule's pole vault of 3.95 meters is the third best vault in program history. Marisa Heil and Avery Emerson both won races this weekend: Heil the 3000-meter run and Emerson the 600-meter dash.
How it Happened-
● On the field for the women, Kate Hallie was the highest placing RedHawk, in 14th place with a throw of 15.92. Sophia Ili (13.23), Kristen Berwanger (12.88), Caroline Kagy (12.23), Carly Cambria (11.52), Sara Cupp (11.38) and Ava Luczak (11.06) all also threw in this event.
● In shot put, Hallie placed sixth, throwing 13.59, Luczak placed 18th, throwing 11.86, Ili placed 20th, throwing 11.42, Caroline Kagy placed 21st, throwing 10.94, Cupp placed 23rd, throwing 10.39 and Berwanger placed 26th, throwing 9.32.
● Garvin placed fourth in the high jump invite event. Her jump of 1.78 meters is the second-best jump in program history, beating last week's historic jump of 1.74 meters.
● Maya Reed placed 19th in the long jump, jumping 5.14 meters.
● In pole vault, Boule (3.95) and Emily Eterovich (3.85) took second and third, and Addison Crichley (3.60) finished eighth. Boule's vault is the third best pole vault in program history.
● Emerson won the 600-meter dash with a time of 1:35.41, and Eve Traficanti took third with a time of 1:37.55.
● In the 3000-meter run, Heil secured the win, with a time of 9:51.10. Grace Streek also ran the 3000 for the RedHawks, placing 12th.
● Lauren Jessup-Aiken led the RedHawk women in the 200-meter dash, placing 25th with a run of 25.45 seconds. Camryn Dunn (25.60) took 28th, Riley Betz (25.75) took 33rd, Olivia Cebalo (26.54) took 43rd, Katelyn Pratt (27.11) took 51st, Sophia Scavuzzo (27.85) took 54th and Sydney Harmon (28.05) took 57th.
● In the mile, Zubillaga took second with a time of 4:52.86. Monica Guijarro ran the mile in 5:08.28 for an 18th-place finish.
● Keena Sanders (59.14) and Rachel Smith competed in the 400, placing 23rd and 27th, respectively.
● Emerson took third in the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:15.02.
● The Miami women took eighth place in the 4x400 meter relay with a team of Cebalo, Smith, Traficanti and Scavuzzo clocking a time of 3:57.29.
● On the field for the men, Quinn Kroneker placed ninth in pole vault, clearing a height of 4.33.
● Kirk Knecht jumped 6.57 meters in the long jump and placed 10th.
● In the weight throw event, Owen Billeter secured fourth place, throwing 17.02. David Lorek took ninth (15.08), Reilly Worthington placed 12th (14.72) and Richard Obioha placed 17th (13.93).
● Lorek (16.45), Presley (15.90) and Worthington (15.53) placed fifth, ninth and 13th, respectively, in the shot put.
● Eight RedHawk men competed in the 3000-meter run. Evan Jarold (8:16.65) placed fourth, Tom Heal (8:18.53) placed fifth, Petros Sanchez Ropero (8:25.01) placed sixth, Anton Martinez (8:30.17) placed eighth, Luke Mussard (8:32.74) placed 11th, Josh Razor (8:39.19) placed 12th, Weston Naville (8:42.72) placed 15th and Taman Chokshi (8:45.16) placed 16th.
● In the 200, Joey Valeski (22.11) placed 23rd, Rondale Carridine (22.94) placed 40th, JD Leverette (23.22) placed 42nd, Mitchell Wiemuth (23.91) placed 45th, R'Monee Brown (24.05) placed 46th and Remy Schulz (24.28) placed 47th.
● Ben Fahnestock came in 23rd in the mile, running it in 4:16.38.
● Dominic Jackson (1:55.09) and Adrian Stechschulte (1:56.72) competed in the 800 and placed 11th and 17th, respectively.
