Heil runs ninth best 3000m race in RedHawk history

RedHawks Continue Impressive Season in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The Miami RedHawks Indoor Track and Field team traveled to Louisville, Ky., to compete in the University of Louisville's Lenny Lyles Invitational this weekend. Nora Zubillaga ran the fifth-best time in program history in the mile and Marisa Heil ran the ninth-best time in program history in the 3000m run. Emily Eterovich and Mia Boule tied the seventh-best pole vaults in Miami indoor history.Â

The RedHawks will travel to Huntington, W.Va., to compete in the Jewel City Invite next weekend, January 6-7..

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rachel Smith placed third in the "C" division of the 400m dash, with a time of 57.37. Keena Sanders placed ninth in the same division, running the 400 in 58.49. Oliva Cebalo ran a 59.52 and placed 28th, and Mae Reed finished in 1:00.58, setting a new 400m personal record.
- In the 800m dash (open), Eve Traficanti placed 22nd, finishing the race in 2:16.61. In the "A" division 800m dash, Avery Emerson ran a 2:14.13, placing sixth.
- In the 3000m (open), Heil ran a 9:38.23 personal record and the ninth-best time in Miami's Indoor program history. Monica Guijarro also raced the 3000m and placed 15th, with a time of 9:54.70.
- In the 200m "C" division, Riley Betz placed 17th with a time of 25.37, and Lauren Jessup-Aiken placed 25th with a time of 25.57.
- Zubillaga finished the mile in 4:48.74, placing seventh. This run is her personal record and the fifth-best time in Miami program history. Heil (4:53.50) and Guijarro (5:04.74) also ran the mile, placing 11th and 33rd, respectively.
- In the 5000m run, Cara Razavi took seventh place with a time of 17:34.63.
- In the 4x400m relay, the RedHawk women took 17th with a team of Cebalo, Sanders, Emerson and Smith. The Miami women ran the 1600 meters in 3:52.07.
- Maya Reed placed 54th in the long jump open with a jump of 5.01 meters.
- In the weight throw open, Kate Hallie placed 21st, with a throw of 16.66 meters.
- Ella Garvin jumped 1.60m in the high jump event, with a five-way tie for 17th place.
- Hallie (13.50) and Ava Luczak (11.16) placed 10th and 36th, respectively, in shot put.
- In the "B" division pole vault, Eterovich placed fifth, vaulting 3.72m, Boule placed sixth, vaulting 3.72m. These vaults tie the seventh-best vaults in Miami history. Addison Crichley placed eighth, vaulting 3.57m.
- In the "B" division of the 400, Joey Valeski placed fifth, running a 48.59. And in the division "B" 200m dash, Valeski ran a 22.15 and placed 18th.
- In the open 800m, Dominic Jackson placed 20th, running a 1:54.17 and Adrian Stechschulte placed 46th, running a 1:56.62.
- Tom Heal (8:13.11), Evan Jarold (8:13.65), Petros Sanchez Ropero (8:19.62), Patrick Wills (8:21.89), Luke Mussard (8:27.11), Anton Martinez (8:27.87), Josh Razor (8:29.34), Ben Fahnestock (8:36.96), Weston Naville (8:43.08) and Taman Chokshi (8:51.14) ran the 3000m (open) placing 18th, 21st, 30th, 31st, 39th, 41st, 45th, 57th, 62nd and 71st, respectively.
- In the mile, Luke Mussard (4:11.79) and Ben Fahnestock (4:18.75) placed 37th and 61st, respectively.
- In the 200m dash "C" division, Matthew Shuler ran a 21.90, placing 12th.
- The Miami Men ran the 4x400m relay in 3:25.03, placing 24th with a team of Tober, Valeski, Stechschulte and Jackson.
- On the field, David Lorek placed 44th in the weight throw, throwing 14.08 meters.
- Kirk Knecht placed 46th in the long jump open with a jump of 6.11 meters.
- In the shot put event, Lorek (15.49), Reilly Worthington (15.38) and Blake Presley (14.85) placed 16th, 18th and 27th, respectively.
- Nate Hollingsworth placed 11th in high jump (open), jumping 2.03 meters.
