INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The Miami RedHawks kicked off their indoor track and field season at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, competing in the Hoosier Horsepower Classic. Ella Garvin tied the second-best all-time indoor high jump in Miami history.

How It Happened:
- Garvin placed fourth in the high jump invite, jumping 1.74 meters, the best jump in over 15 years by a RedHawk.
- Mia Boule and Emily Eterovich claimed second and third place in pole vault, both vaulting a height of 3.80. Addison Crichley placed seventh, with a height of 3.40.
- In the weight throw event, Kate Hallie placed sixth for the RedHawks with a throw of 16.81. Also competing were Sophia Ili (13.82), Kristen Berwanger (13.54), Caroline Kagy (12.62) and Ava Luczak (10.90), who placed 15th, 17th, 18th, and 20th, respectively.
- In the shot put event, Hallie claimed third place with a throw of 13.98. Luczak threw 11.49 for 12th place, Kagy threw 11.42 for 13th place, Sara Cupp threw 10.85 for 16th place and Ili threw 10.59 for 17th place in shot put.
- Ella Scally (unattached) won the long jump invite with a jump of 6.34m. In the long jump, Kylie Adams (5.12) and Maya Reed (5.07) placed 12th and 14th, respectively.
- In the 3000m run, Nora Zubillaga placed fifth with a time of 9:59.75. Monica Guijarro (10:13.43) and Cara Razavi (10:36.06) also ran the 3000m race, and placed 15th and 23rd, respectively.
- Avery Emerson placed seventh in the mile with a time of 5:06.38. In the 400m dash, Addison Smith placed 12th with a time of 1:04.07.
- Keena Sanders was the first RedHawk to finish the 200m dash, placing 16th with a time of 25.66. Her teammates, not far behind, were Camryn Dunn (21st), Riley Betz (22nd), Lauren Jessup-Aiken (23rd) and Olivia Cebalo (32nd). In the 60m dash final, Scally (unattached) placed third with a time of 7.61, and Betz (7.79) placed seventh.
- In the 4x400 relay, the team of Cebalo, Emerson, Adams and Smith claimed fourth place with a time of 4:01.19.
- On the field, the Miami men took seventh, eighth, and ninth place in the weight throw (Owen Billeter, David Lorek and Reilly Worthington, respectively). In the shot put, Lorek, Blake Presley, and Worthington placed third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
- Dominic Jackson claimed fourth in the 600m dash with a time of 1:21.26.
- Mac Burley took third in the high jump with a jump of 1.88.
- In the 3000m run, Ben Fahnestock secured second place, running a time of 8:51.75. Also competing in the 3000m race was Nick Dunn (9:04.88), who took sixth. In the mile, Adrian Stechschulte (4:19.28) placed 12th.
- Joey Valeski placed fourth in the 200m dash, followed by teammates Jaxson Tober (23.33) and Rondale Carridine (23.62), placing 9th and 10th, respectively. Tober placed 4th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.46 seconds. In the 60m dash, Matthew Shuler finished 3rd in 7.01 seconds. His teammate, Joey Valeski, finished in seventh place in 7.21 seconds.
