RedHawks Set For Knoxville Regional

OXFORD, Ohio – On Monday afternoon, the NCAA released the bracket for the 2025 Division I Baseball Tournament. The Miami RedHawks (35-21, 23-7 MAC) were selected as the No. 4 seed for the double-elimination Knoxville Regional. Miami will face host Tennessee in its opening game at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 30. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Knoxville Regional Teams
Miami claimed its sixth regular-season MAC Championship this year (1973, 1974, 1979, 1983, 2005 and 2025) and took its fourth MAC Tournament Championship (1983, 2000, 2005 and 2025) Sunday. 2025 marks Miami's eighth appearance overall in the national tournament.
MAC Coach of the Year Brian Smiley led the RedHawks to a regular season and MAC Tournament Championship for the first time since 2005 in only his second season as a head coach. This year the RedHawks had seven players recognized as All-MAC: Evan Appelwick, Dillon Baker, Ty Batusich, Carson Byers, Cooper Katskee, Ryan Novak and Anthony Zarlingo. Katskee also received the MAC Pitcher of the Year title and Zarlingo was named to the All-Defensive Team. Katskee, Zarlingo and Clayton Burke joined MAC Tournament MVP Dominic Krupinski on the All-Tournament Team last weekend.
