Suszek Win in 400 Highlights Final Day of MAC Championships

ATHENS, Ohio— The Miami University track and field team wrapped up the 2025 MAC Outdoor Championships Saturday at Ohio University. The RedHawk women (79 points) and RedHawk men (58.25) each ended the meet in fifth place. Abby Suszek finished first in the women's 400m for the Red and White.

The NCAA East First Round runs from May 28-31 in Jacksonville, Fla. Qualifying student-athletes will be officially announced on May 22.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the men's discus, Adam Smith came in third place with a mark of 55.83, which moves him into third on Miami's all-time list. Richard Obioha took fifth (50.28) and Owen Billeter came in ninth (46.62).
- Logan Vowles placed fifth in the men's high jump (2.03), just ahead of Mac Burley (1.98), who tied for sixth.
- Miami brought home bronze in the men's 4x100 relay, as Rondale Carridine, Leo Bouldin, Angelo Vassilakis and Matthew Shuler clocked in with a time of 42.70. On the women's side, the RedHawks finished fifth (45.66 time for Riley Betz, Ella Scally, Keira McGregor and Suszek).
- Victor Orsinelli paced Miami in the 1500m with a seventh-place mark of 3:52.60, just ahead of Tom Heal (3:52.67) in eighth. Conall McGinness came in 11th with a time of 4:00.20. Cara Naas came in 10th in the women's 1500m with a mark of 4:51.22.
- Suszek's gold-medal performance in the 400 came with a time of 53.34, following up on her first-place finish in the 400 during the indoor championships in March. Lucca Agate brought home bronze in the 400 and moves into the top five in Miami history with a time of 54.06. Micah Schuster took fourth in the men's 400 (47.59).
- Andrew Farrow came in sixth place in the men's triple jump (14.33).
- In the men's 100m, Vassilakis took sixth place (10.74) and Carridine was seventh (10.76).
- Eve Traficanti was Miami's top finisher in the women's 800m (2:12.40), coming in fifth; Avery Emerson was seventh at 2:15.83.
- Jaxson Tober took fifth place for the Red and White in the men's 400m hurdles (54.27).
- Caroline Kagy placed 17th in the women's discus with a mark of 40.74. Abbi Deisch was 11th in the high jump (1.71), while Elle Miller and Ella Garvin tied for 15th at 1.66.
- Suszek grabbed bronze in the women's 200m with a time of 23.58, good for second in program history. Bouldin finished sixth in the men's 200m (21.76) for the RedHawks.
- Miami had two top-10 finishers in the men's 5000m, led by Bronson in sixth place (14:55.40). Petros Sanchez (15:31.64) came in 10th. Cara Razavi was 18th in the women's race (18:26.79).
- The RedHawks earned a bronze medal in the men's 4x400, as Schuster, Bouldin, Tober and Joey Valeski finished in 3:14.67. The Miami women placed fourth in the 4x400 relay at 3:43.45 (Agate, Scally, Traficanti and Suszek).
