RedHawks Continue to Excel at MAC Outdoor Championships

ATHENS, Ohio— The Miami women finished day two of the MAC Outdoor Championships in third place with 42 points, while the RedHawk men finished in fifth place with 26 points.

The final day of the MAC Championships is set for Saturday, May 17 in Athens.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- On the field for the women, Ella Scally finished in third place in the women's long jump event with 6.11 meters. Elle Miller also competed in the women's long jump, and she finished in ninth place with a new personal-best distance of 5.81 meters.
- In the first round of the women's 400-meter dash, Abby Suszek finished in first place with a time of 53.88 seconds. Lucca Agate also ran in the women's 400-meter dash, and she finished in fifth place with a time of 55.33 seconds. Suszek and Agate both qualified for the finals on Saturday. In the first round of the women's 800-meter run, Avery Emerson (2:10.60) and Eve Traficanti (2:11.13) finished in sixth and eighth place, and qualified for the finals on Saturday. Riley Betz finished in 10th place in the first round of the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 15.88 seconds.
- In the women's 3000-meter steeplechase, Linda Conchetto finished in sixth place with a time of 11:03.36.
- On the field for the men, Reilly Worthington (14.99 meters) and Ben Riegel (14.98 meters) finished in ninth and 10th place in the men's shot put throw, respectively.
- In the first round of the men's 400-meter dash, Micah Schuster finished in third place with a time of 47.77 seconds and qualified for the finals on Saturday. Joey Valeski (48.61 seconds) and Leo Bouldin (48.81 seconds) also ran in the 400-meter dash, and they finished in ninth and 10th place, respectively. In the men's 100-meter dash, Matthew Shuler (10.50 seconds), Rondale Carridine (10.56 seconds) and Angelo Vassilakis (10.57 seconds) finished in sixth, seventh and eighth place and all qualified for the finals on Saturday. Jaxson Tober finished in ninth place in the first round of the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.12 seconds. In the men's 800-meter run, Vincenzo Matarazzo finished in ninth place with a time of 2:00.02.
- In the men's 3000-meter steeplechase, Tom Heal (9:03.00), Petros Sanchez Ropero (9:07.92) and Conall McGinness (9:31.62) finished in third, fourth and sixth place, respectively.
