MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Erin Pinter's three-run home run in the first and
Jenna Golembiewski's solo shot in the sixth propelled Miami to a 4-3 victory on Sunday over Central Michigan. The RedHawks improve to 23-16 overall and 13-1 in MAC play, while CMU drops to 16-17, 8-4 MAC.
How it Happened:
- Miami got on the board quickly with a three-run home run from Pinter in the first, scoring Chloe Parks and Mckenna Campbell.
- The Chippewas scored two runs in the third to make it 3-2 and added a solo home run in the fifth to tie the contest.
- Miami reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run to straight-away center field from Golembiewski, her 17th home run of the season.
- CMU threatened in the seventh, placing runners at second and third with one out, but Madilyn Reeves pitched her way out of a jam to secure the victory.
Game Notes:
- Miami has now won 23-straight series in MAC play, dating back to March of 2023.
- Golembiewski was a perfect 3-of-3 with a home run and a stolen base.
- Reeves threw a complete game that included seven strikeouts.
