How it Happened:
- Duquesne connected on five three pointers before the first media timeout and led 18-9 with 4:53 left in the first. A Katey Richason layup made it 18-11, but five-straight from the Dukes extended their advantage to 23-11 with just over a minute to play in the quarter. DU led 23-13 after 10 minutes of play.
- Miami cut the deficit in half with five-straight points to open the second, but another triple from Duquesne pushed the lead back to eight. The Dukes maintained the eight-point advantage through the media timeout, before Tretter's triple made it a five-point game with three minutes left in the half. After DU answered with a triple of their own, Lakresha Edwards knocked in back-to-back three pointers in a 30 second span to make it 36-32 with 1:50 to play. Duquesne led 41-36 at the half.
- Duquesne opened up a seven-point advantage, 47-40, midway through the third quarter, but buckets from Chandler and Richason made it 47-44 with 4:33. The Dukes answered with a 7-0 run, forcing a Glenn Box timeout at the 2:19 mark. Chandler's three-point play cut the deficit to seven, but a 7-0 Dukes run to close out the quarter spotted DU a 61-47 advantage entering the final stanza.
- Six-straight points from Tretter, Chandler and Tamar Singer to begin the fourth forced a DU timeout. After both teams exchanged a pair of baskets, a triple from Singer made it 66-59, but four-straight from the Dukes pushed the lead to 11 with 3:06 to go. Emily Bratton's two free throws, Chandler's baseline jumper and a triple from Richason made it 70-66 with 1:23 to play, but Miami would get no closer.
