CLEVELAND, Ohio – On Wednesday morning, the Mid-American Conference announced its postseason awards. Peter Suder was named First-Team All-MAC, and Kam Craft received Third-Team All-MAC honors. Brant Byers was recognized as the MAC Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the MAC All-Freshman Team.

Suder leads the RedHawks in scoring (13.3 points) and assists (3.6) per game, while also averaging 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 0.4 blocks. His field goal percentage (.500) is currently 12th overall in the MAC and is the fourth-highest percentage from a guard in the conference. Suder's 42-point performance (best total of his career) in a victory over Air Force is the largest amount scored by a MAC player this season. This point total is also tied for the sixth-highest all-time by a Miami player and the largest amount scored since Wally Szczerbiak scored 43 in 1999. Suder surpassed 1,000 total career points in an overtime win against Kent State. He is the first RedHawk to receive First-Team All-MAC honors since Julian Mavunga in 2012.

Craft received Third-Team All-MAC honors after averaging 13.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 0.5 steals and 0.2 blocks. He ranks second in the MAC in threes per game (2.7) and third in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.421). Craft leads the RedHawks with 83 triples on the season, a total that ranks him second all-time in single-season three-point field goals made in Miami history. He erupted for a career-high 40 points (13-of-22 from the field) in a victory over Toledo and shot 10-of-16 from the three-point line in a win against Bethany, tying Jason Stewart (10 vs. Marshall in 2000) for the most made threes in program history.

In his freshman campaign, Byers is averaging 8.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.6 steals, 0.5 assists and 0.3 blocks per game. In conference play, he finished second in the MAC in three-point field goal percentage (.456) and 11th in field goal percentage (.522). Byers scored in double figures 14 different times during the 2024-25 campaign and had a career-high 22 points versus Northern Illinois. In his first conference game of the season, Byers knocked down the most triples of his career, as he shot a perfect 6-of-6 from beyond the arc. He is the first Miami player to be recognized as the MAC Freshman of the Year since Nike Sibande in 2018.
Byers, Craft, Suder and the rest of the RedHawks open the 2025 Mid-American Conference Tournament with a quarterfinal contest versus No. 7 seed Eastern Michigan on Thursday, March 13. The Red and White play at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the third game of the day.
