CINCINNATI, Ohio – Miami Baseball took a 12-3 road loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats Tuesday after giving up four runs in both the fifth and sixth innings.
Ty Batusich went 2-for-2 against the Bearcats, walking twice and scoring one run. Miami falls to 7-9 with the loss while Cincinnati improves to 11-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miami scored quickly in the top of the first. Batusich singled and Evan Appelwick crushed a two-run homer to jump out to an early 2-0 lead.
- Cincinnati answered in the bottom of the first with three runs, including a two-run homer.
- The Bearcats' next score came in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run that put them ahead 4-2.
- Cincinnati scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth off of three hits. They scored four more runs in the bottom of the sixth on a grand slam that put them up 12-2.
- Miami managed one more run in the top of the seventh. Carson Raether recorded his first hit as a RedHawk, a double to centerfield, and later scored on a fielder's choice to round out a 12-3 final score.
MIAMI GAME NOTES:
- Batusich went 2-for-2 with one run and two walks.

Miami returns home this weekend to resume MAC play with a three-game series against the Northern Illinois Huskies. Game one is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday, March 14.
