Collegiate Claims Gold in Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — In their final skate of the season, the Miami University collegiate synchronized skating team finished it perfectly with a win at the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. Miami earned its fourth consecutive collegiate national title and 23rd all-time crown.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • On Friday evening, the RedHawks skated eighth out of 12 teams and posted an impressive score of 107.16. 
  • The team's technical element score was 52.27, and its program component score was 55.89, each the highest of the evening. 
  • The Red and White finished seven points ahead of the runner-up Northernettes (99.32). Trine University (98.29) and Western Michigan University (95.56) placed third and fourth, respectively. 
  • Miami took first place for the third consecutive competition this season.
