GOING STREAKING: Enjulina Gonzalez has scored in double figures 18-straight games, dating back to Dec. 1. She has surpassed 20 points seven different times this season, including a season-high 29 points in a win at FIU. The sophomore transfer from Mercer has been named MAC Player of the Week three times and currently ranks third in the MAC in scoring (17.1). Miami is 6-1 this season when she scores 20-plus points.
DOUBLE TROUBLE: Amber Tretter has recorded 14 double-doubles in her career, including four this year. On the season she nearly averages a double-double in points (10.3) and rebounds (8.2), despite only playing 27.4 minutes per contest. She ranks fifth in the MAC in rebounding and fourth in blocks (1.0).
ABOUT AKRON: Akron is 9-16 overall, 3-9 in MAC play and enter Wednesday's contest on a nine-game losing streak. The Zips feature a balanced scoring attack, led by Shelbee Brown (12.8 ppg.), Alexus Mobley (12.3 ppg.) and Teniesha Clarke (10.8 ppg.).
SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 66th meeting between the two schools, with Miami holding a 41-24 series advantage. Miami has captured two-straight in the series after Akron won eight-straight from Jan. 2020-Feb. 2023.

DEFENSE SETTING RECORDS: Miami has a chance to do something never done before on the defensive end. The best defensive effort in a season was all the way back in 1977-78 when Miami allowed 56.9 points/game. This season, the RedHawls are currently allowing 56.2 points/game.
POINTING TO THE PAINT: Back on Jan. 18, Miami dropped a contest to Buffalo, where the RedHawks attempted a season-high 34 triples (made 9) and recorded just 12 points in the paint. Since that contest, the RedHawks have recorded 206 points in the paint (29.4/game) over the past seven contests. Miami has scored at least 28 points in the paint in five of the past seven games.
THAT 70'S SHOW: It's not all about defense when it comes to Miami. The RedHawks are a perfect 8-0 this year when they score 70-plus points in a contest. Much of that scoring has come in the first and third quarters. Miami has outscored their opponents 369-300 in the first quarter and 405-325 to begin the second half.
