Miami Takes First in Tri-State Competition

MENTOR, Ohio — The Miami University synchronized skating collegiate team captured its second victory of the season on Saturday at the Tri-State Competition. The Red and White posted a strong score of 106.69 within the competitive six-team field.

- On Saturday afternoon, Miami skated fourth and put on a great team performance, finishing with a total score of 106.69 with zero deductions.
- The team's technical element score was 52.57, and its program component score was 54.12, the highest of the day.
- One other team (Northernettes) posted a score over 100, and the rest of the competition was nine points or more behind the leaders from Oxford.
- The rest of the competition finished as; Western Michigan (97.97), Trine University (94.20), Michigan State University (90.59), and University of Michigan (89.90).

- Miami's senior team will skate during intermission at the Miami Hockey game on Friday, February 21. Both the senior and collegiate teams will host a Nationals Send-Off Exhibition on Saturday, February 22 at 3:30 p.m. at Goggin Ice Center.
