RedHawks Run in Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn,-- The Miami indoor teams traveled to Vanderbilt University this weekend to compete in the Music City Challenge. Abby Suszek and Ella Scally led the way for the RedHawks this weekend as both finished in first place in their respective events.

The RedHawks will travel to South Bend, Ind., next weekend to compete in their last regular-season meet of the indoor season, the Alex Wilson Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the 400-meter dash, Suszek finished in first place with a personal best time of 53.09 seconds. Suszek beat her previous time that she set last weekend by .27 seconds, and she is now only .02 seconds back of first place in RedHawk history for the 400-meter dash. Suszek also finished in second place in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 24.00 seconds. In the first round of the women's 60-meter dash, Scally qualified for the semifinals by finishing in 11th place with a time of 7.61 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay team of Erin Connors, Keena Sanders, Lucca Agate, and Eve Traficanti finished in 10th place with a time of 3:47.11.
- On the field for the women, Scally finished in first place in the women's long jump event with 6.18 meters. Elle Miller finished in eighth place in the women's high jump invite with 1.68 meters. Grace Hicks finished in eighth place in the women's pole vault event with 3.57 meters. In the women's weight throw event, Ella Rigel finished in 10th place with 17.37 meters. In the women's high jump event, Abbi Deisch finished in ninth place with 1.55 meters. Santornya Ralliford finished in seventh place in the women's shot put event with 13.79 meters.
- In the men's unseeded 400-meter dash, Joey Valeski finished in eighth place with a time of 48.68 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay team of Micah Schuster, Valeski, Anthony Vlatko, and Leo Bouldin finished in eighth place with a time of 3:16.21.
- In the men's 5,000-meter run, Mhalicki Bronson finshed in fifth place with a time of 14:02.59. Patrick Wills also ran in the men's 5,000-meter run, and he finished in 10th place with a time of 14:14.63. In the men's unseeded 3,000-meter run, Tom Heal (8:26.66) and Victor Orsinelli (8:26.72) finished in seventh and eighth place, respectively.
- On the field for the men, Nate Hollingsworth (2.01 meters) and Logan Vowles (1.96 meters) finished in seventh and ninth place in the men's high jump invite. Ben Riegel finished in eighth place in the men's shot put event with 16.35 meters. Henry Hoblitzell finished in seventh place in the men's pole vault event with 4.90 meters.
