RedHawks Continue to Excel at Midwest Classic

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-- The Miami indoor teams traveled to Indianapolis for the third week in a row to compete in the Midwest Classic this weekend. Abby Suszek led the way for the RedHawks as she made history in the 200-meter dash this weekend and set a new school record.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Suszek finished in first place in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 23.92 seconds. This time marks another PR for Suszek as she beat her previous time by .16 seconds. Suszek's performance this weekend also puts her at first all time in RedHawk history for the 200-meter dash. Lucca Agate also ran in the 200-meter dash, and she finished in sixth place with a time of 24.44 seconds. In the first round of the women's 60-meter dash, Ella Scally finished in second place with a time of 7.58 seconds. Scally set another PR, beating her previous time that she set last week by .05 seconds, and ranks sixth in program history. In the 60-meter dash finals, Scally finished in fourth place with a time of 7.68 seconds. Agate also ran in the women's 60-meter dash, and she finished in ninth place with a time of 7.73 seconds. The 4x400-meter team of Keena Sanders, Rachel Smith, Erin Connors, and Nora Zubillaga finished in sixth place with a time of 3:56.57. The other 4x400-meter team of Ella Garvin, Sidney Sanders, Sydney Harmon, and Gretchen Feldkamp finished in eighth place with a time of 4:10.99.
- On the field for the women, Scally finished in first place in the women's long jump event with 6.13 meters. Elle Miller (5.65) and Chloe Rickson (5.48 meters) also competed in the women's long jump event, and they finished eighth and ninth place, respectively. Miller was the highest placing RedHawk in the women's high jump event with 1.63 meters. Garvin also competed in the women's high jump event, and she finished in 10th place with 1.58 meters. Mia Boule (3.91 meters) and Emily Eterovich (3.81 meters) finished in fourth and sixth place in the women's pole vault event, respectfully.
- In the women's mile, Annie Christie finished in fourth place with a time of 4:57.68. Cara Naas also ran in the women's mile, and she finished in 10th place with a time of 5:11.52. Zubillaga finished in fourth place in the women's 800-meter event with a time of 2:13.95.
- In the men's 3000-meter run, the RedHawks had five of the top 10 runners. Patrick Wills led the way as he finished in first place with a time of 8:08.14. Mhalicki Bronson was just behind Wills as he finished in third place with a time of 8:11.55. Conall McGinness (8:16.52), Chris Perkins (8:18.71), and Tom Heal (8:28.19) finished in sixth, seventh, and eighth place, respectively. Â
- On the field for the men, Andrew Farrow finished in first place in the men's triple jump event with 14.54 meters. Farrow also finished in fifth place in the men's long jump event with 6.64 meters.
