RedHawks Race at NCAA Great Lakes Regional

EVANSVILLE, Ind..- The Miami RedHawk cross country teams competed in the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Regional meet on Friday. The Miami women's team placed 12th out of 32 competing teams with 379 points. This is the highest regional finish for the Miami women since 2022. The men took 14th place out of 30 teams and scored 440 points.
How it Happened:
- Marisa Heil led the pack for the Red and White, finishing the 6k race in 20:54.29, placing 34th overall. Ava Nuttall was the next RedHawk to cross the finish line in 21:28.50, placing 70th out of 231 competitors.
- Other RedHawks to complete the 6k were Nora Zubillaga (21:32.56), who ran a personal best, Linda Conchetto (21:59.78), Cara Razavi (22:08.93), Cara Naas (22:42.50) and Emma Morrow (23:06.63).
- In the men's race, Petros Sanchez finished the 10k first for the RedHawk men with a time of 31:52.60. Closely following him was Weston Naville with a time of 31:54.46. They placed 62nd and 65th, respectively, out of 210 competitors.
- Chris Perkins (32:03.98), Ben Fahnestock (32:48.08), Patrick Wills (33:05.20), Tom Heal (33:11.70) and Luke Mussard (33:50.01) all competed for the RedHawks in the men's 10k race.
