Miami Scores Twice in a Minute on Senior Day, Wins 3-0

OXFORD, Ohio— The Miami University soccer team posted a 3-0 win against Central Michigan University during a Sunday home match. The RedHawks are now 8-5-2 (5-2-2 MAC) with the Senior Day victory and extended their unbeaten streak to six matches. CMU is now 0-13-3 (0-7-3 MAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED

The RedHawks opened the scoring in the 17th minute after a shot from Maris Jennings presented a rebound for Kayla Perfect, who put it in the bottom left corner.
Miami immediately added a goal 30 seconds later with a beautiful 18th-minute cross from Perfect that was headed in by Katie O'Malley at the back post.
The RedHawks tallied another goal in the 52nd minute as O'Malley closed the scoring, with Millie Cook collecting the assist.

NOTES

O'Malley produced the first multi-goal game of her career.
Perfect scored and assisted in the same game for the first time in her career.
Dominique Popa moved into a tie for third place on Miami's all-time list with her 20th career shutout and earned her eighth clean sheet of the year (tied for fourth-most in a season in program history)
