Miami Tallies Another Shutout to Clinch a Postseason Berth, 3-0

ATHENS, Ohio — The Miami University soccer team posted a 3-0 win against Ohio University during a Thursday away match. The RedHawks move to 9-5-2 (6-2-2 MAC) with the result in their first away game of the week. OU is now 4-9-5 (2-5-4 MAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dominique Popa prevented Ohio University from scoring first in the 19th minute with a great right-handed save.
- The RedHawks scored first from a throw-in that initially found Kayla Perfect, which was then put in the back of the net by Caroline Mortonson in the 31st minute.
- In the 58th minute, Caroline Mortonson created and assisted on the RedHawks second goal that was scored by Perfect.
- Shae Taylor scored from the spot in the 75th minute, courtesy of a foul in the box won by Juliann Kidd.
NOTES
- Taylor scored the first goal of her career in her second season.
- Kidd tallied the second assist of her career in MAC conference play.
- Mortonson scored the second goal of her freshman campaign.
- Perfect scored in back-to-back games for the first time in her three-year career.
- Popa increases her season shutout totals to nine, good for third most in a season in program history.
