OXFORD, Ohio – The RedHawks picked up their fifth conference win Friday in an 8-0 rout of Central Michigan. Freshman midfielder Justina Intzes continued to light up the stat sheet, posting a hat trick and two assists. Miami improves to 10-4 (5-1 MAC) with the win while Central Michigan falls to 7-6 (2-4 MAC) with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Intzes netted an unassisted goal less than two minutes into play to pull Miami to an early 1-0 lead.
Minutes later, Intzes scored again, this time after an assist from Berta Mata, to secure her 15th score of the season and make it a 2-0 lead.
Malena Sabez made it 3-0, scoring off assists from Kylie Coughlin and Paula Navarro on a penalty corner late in the first period.
With under a second to play in the first period, Intzes set up Bet Gifra for her sixth goal of the season to make it 4-0.
Virginia Olin scored midway through the second period, her second goal of the year, to make it 5-0. Navarro earned the assist on Olin's goal.
Mata scored early in the third period off an assist by Intzes to extend the lead to 6-0.
Intzes completed her hat trick minutes later, bolstering the lead to seven goals.
Mata struck again, this time unassisted, midway through the third period. This made it 8-0 in favor of the RedHawks.
A fourth period stalemate kept both teams scoreless for the final 15 minutes and finished out an 8-0 Miami victory.

MIAMI GAME NOTES:

The RedHawks put up 34 shots (27 on goal) while holding the Chippewas to four (one on goal).
Miami generated nine penalty corners and held Central Michigan to four.
Intzes went 3-for-6 with two assists and four shots on goal.
Mata went 2-for-7 with an assist and seven shots on goal.
Gifra went 1-for-5 with three shots on goal.
Sabez went 1-for-7 with six shots on goal.
Navarro had two assists.
Julia Fernandez put two shots on goal.
