GAMBIER, Ohio — The Miami University swimming and diving team hit the road to take on Kenyon College on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025 at the James A. Steen Aquatic Center. The women went on to defeat the Owls 157-87. The men defeated Kenyon 167-74.
How it Happened:
- The meet kicked off with the women's 200 medley where the women's A team took home first place. Madeline Padavic, Emma Schueler, McKenzie Reid and Natalie Gilson turned in a combined time of 1:39.30 The women's B team finished in third-place. Ella Ziegert, Zofia Janaszek-Seydlitz, Erin Szczupakiewicz and Julia Waecther posted a combined time of 1:41.80.
- The men's 200 medley was next where the men's A team finished first. Jensen Nelson, Adrian Dulay, Henju Duvenhage and Tegan Barrier recorded a combined time of 1:28.20. The men's B team finished second. Drew Watson, Benjamin Eichberg, Scott Spear and Carter McIntosh finished with a combined time of 1:29.70.
- After that came the women's 1650-yard freestyle where Casey Stephens finished in second place, recording a time of 17:12.68.
- Yonatan Rosin finished first in the men's 1650-yard freestyle clocking a time of 16:03.89.
- Next was the women's 200-yard freestyle where Taylor Connors finished second posting a time of 1:50.50. Katheryn Antonowich was third with a time of 1:51.78.
- The men's 200-yard freestyle followed, where Allen Cotton came in first place earning a time of 1:39.79. Tommy Fry finished third turning in a time of 1:41.72.
- Padavic was first in the women's 50-yard freestyle finishing with a time of 23.15. Waechter was right behind her in second-place recording a time of 23.18. Jenna Halliday secured third-place with a time of 23.50.
- Ian Kmiliauskis finished first in the men's 50-yard freestyle clocking a time of 20.46. Tegan Barrier posted a time of 20.71 which was good for third-place.
- The 200-IM was next where Kaylin Herbet finished in first-place, earning a time of 2:00.61. Ashley Sego finished third with a time of 2:05.23.
- Duvenhage took home first-place in the men's 200 IM finishing with a time of 1:46.20. Owen Hoban finished second turning in a time of 1:49.58.
- After that was the women's 100-yard butterfly where Ziegert finished first, recording a time of 55.35. Reid finished second clocking a time of 56.41.
- The men's 100-yard butterfly followed where Cotton was first, earning a time of 48.89. Spear finished third with a time of 49.33.
- Herbert finished first in the women's 100-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 49.99.
- Kmiliauskis was first in the men's 100-yard freestyle, turning in a time of 44.82. Jack Herczeg finished in third with a time of 45.47.
- The women's 100-yard backstroke was next, where Padavic, Angelina Cakuls and Halliday finished in first, second and third-place. The trio posted times of 53.17, 55.64 and 55.98 respectively.
- Nelson finished first in the men's 100-yard backstroke, earning a time of 48.07. Hoban finished third with a time of 49.59.
- The women's 500-yard freestyle followed, where Audrey Conley was second, finishing with a time of 5:01.36. Antonowich finished third, clocking a time of 5:02.63.
- Up next was the men's 500-yard freestyle, where Bryce Menchhofer finished first, posting a time of 4:33.55.
- Gilson finished in second-place in the women's 100-yard breaststroke, earning a time of 1:02.67. Schueler finished third with a time of 1:03.56.
- Eichberg was second in the men's 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a time of 56.02.
- The women's 400-yard freestyle relay was next where the women's A team finished first. Padavic, Herbet, Halliday and Connors turned in a combined time of 3:22.86. The women's B team finished third. Madison Saldanha, Ziegert, Szczupakiewicz and Cakuls posted a combined time of 3:30.96.
- Swimming events concluded with the men's 400-yard freestyle relay followed where the men's A team finished first. Spear, McIntosh, Kmiliauskis and Cotton earned a combined time of 3:02.08.
- For diving events, Sydney Rice finished first in the one meter dive, putting up a score of 293.55. Gretchen Osmun was second with a score of 288.68. Vivian Niekamp finished third earning a score of 286.20
- Jackson Miller finished first in the men's one meter dive, posting a score of 344.48. David Burke came in second, scoring 312.75 and Victor Hearn finished third, scoring 269.70.
- Up next was the women's three meter dive where Rice finished first with a score of 336.98. Maddie Lutzko finished second, turning in a score of 318.45. Mia Meinhardt was third, scoring 308.40.
- Miller finished first in the men's three meter dive, earning a score of 351.45. Burke finished second, and Hearn finished third with scores of 319.05 and 312.60 respectively.
