Swim and Dive Defeated by Michigan after Hard-Fought Battle

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Miami University swimming and diving team took on the University of Michigan Saturday afternoon at the Donald B. Canham Natatorium. The women fell to the Wolverines 125-161. The men were defeated by Michigan 111-171.

- The meet kicked off with the women's 400-yard medley relay where the women's A team finished second. Madeline Padavic, Natalie Gilson, Erin Szczupakiewicz and Kaylin Herbet turned in a combined time of 3:39.44. The women's B team took home third. Ella Ziegert, Emma Schueler, McKenzie Reid and Julia Waecther posted a combined time of 3:44.18.
- The men's 400-yard medley relay was next where the men's A team was third. Jensen Nelson, Adrian Dulay, Henju Duvenhage and Ian Kmiliauskis earned a combined time of 3:14.55.
- The women's 1000-yard freestyle was next where Audrey Conley finished in third-place, recording a time of 10:17.93.
- After that came the men's 1000-yard freestyle where Tommy Frye finished fifth with a time of 9:32.61.
- Herbert finished fourth in the women's 200-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 1:49.35.
- The men's 200-yard freestyle followed, where Bryce Menchhofer finished fifth, earning a time of 1:38.63
- Padavic finished first in the women's 100-yard backstroke, posting a time of 53.12. Ziegert finished in third-place with a time of 54.49.
- Duvenhage finished first in the men's 100-yard backstroke, breaking a Missouri Valley Conference record with a time of 46.66.
- The women's 100-yard breaststroke was next where Schueler finished second, turning in a time of 1:03.23. Gilson finished in third posting a time of 1:04.45.
- The men's 100-yard breaststroke followed where Dulay finished second clocking a time of 55.46. Benjamin Eichberg was third, recording a time of 56.58.
- Emily Rinker placed second in the women's 200-yard butterfly, earning a time of 2:07.30. Mady Bachmeier came in third with a time of 2:08.18.
- The men's 200-yard butterfly was next where Allen Cotton finished in second, posting a time of 1:48.50. Owen Hoban came in third-place clocking a time of 1:49.10.
- The women's 50-yard freestyle followed, where Jenna Halliday finished second, turning in a time of 23.53. Weather was third, posting a time of 23.73.
- Tegan Barrier came in second in the men's 50-yard freestyle finishing with a time of 20.11. Jack Herczeg was third, clocking a time of 20.52.
- Halliday finished second in the women's 100-yard freestyle, posting a time of 51.71. Connors was third with a time of 52.14.
- Up next was the men's 100-yard freestyle where Kmiliauskis finished second, turning in a time of 44.93.
- Chrisna Bezuidenhout finished first in the women's 200-yard backstroke, breaking a school record with a time of 1:55.75. Angelina Cakuls finished third, recording a time of 1:57.99.
- The men's 200-yard backstroke was next where Jensen Nelson finished in second-place posting a time of 1:45.95. Zach Bann finished third clocking a time of 1:49.13.
- Schuler came in second in the women's 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:20.75 Zofia Janaszek-Seydlitz finished third turning in a time of 2:21.49.
- Dulay finished second in the men's 200-yard breaststroke, recording a time of 2:02.17. Danya Litikin came in third posting a time of 2:05.73.
- The women's 500-yard freestyle was next where Katheryn Antonowich was second, earning a time of 5:00.71. Lauren Gualtieri finished in third-place with a time of 5:04.13.
- Bryce Menchhofer was second in the men's 500-yard freestyle, recording a time of 4:38.03. Yonatan Rosin was third with a time of 4:41.40.
- Szczupakiewicz finished second in the women's 100-yard butterfly posting a time of 54.81. Herbet came in third turning in a time of 55.16.
- The men's 100-yard butterfly was next where Duvenhage finished first earning a time of 46.70. Frye was third clocking a time of 50.38.
- Ashley Sego finished second in the women's 400 IM with a time of 4:28.69. Rinker was third, recording a time of 4:31.93.
- Cotton finished second in the men's 400 IM posting a time of 3:55.59. Hoban finished third, turning in a time of 3:56.84.
- The women's 200-yard freestyle relay was next where the women's A team finished third. Padavic, Waechter, Herbet and Halliday turned in a combined time of 1:31.34.
- Swimming events concluded with the men's 200-yard freestyle relay where the men's A team finished second. Barrier, Duvenhage, Kmiliauskis and Herczeg posted a combined time of 1:19.69. The men's B team finished in third-place. Scott Spear, Eichberg, Ian Wihebrink, and Dulay turned in a combined time of 1:23.50.
- For diving events, Sydney Rice placed third in the women's one-meter dive with a score of 292.30.
- Jackson Miller came in third place in the men's one-meter dive turning in a score of 309.15.
- The women's three-meter dive was next where Rice finished in second-place posting a score of 339.25.
- Miller finished third in the men's three-meter dive putting up a score of 353.80.
